Jeffrey S. Muñoz, a partner in the Houston office, represents oil and gas companies, private equity, hedge funds and other financial institutions in mergers and acquisitions, finance, project development and other transactions related to the energy industry. Mr. Muñoz domestic and international experience includes:

  • Joint ventures and other strategic combinations in connection with the development of oil and gas assets primarily in domestic shale areas
  • Acquisitions and divestitures of oil and gas assets, midstream assets and oilfield service businesses
  • Financing transactions including volumetric production payments, net profits interests and royalty trusts

Mr. Muñoz has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America for Corporate Law 2008-2013, Natural Resources Law 2008-2013 and for Energy Law in 2008-2013.

  • A coal and natural gas producer in its US$3.4 billion joint venture with Noble Energy, Inc. for the development of a 663,000 Marcellus Shale acres in Pennsylvania and West Virginia*
  • A coal and natural gas producer in its US$593 million Joint venture with Hess Corporation for exploration and development of a 200,000 Utica Shale acres in Ohio*
  • An upstream oil & gas company in its US$710 million acquisition and development agreement concerning a 12.5% working interest in its non-operated Eagle Ford shale position*
  • Hedge funds and other financing institutions in numerous complex structured mezzanine finance transactions with oil and gas producers and oil and gas service companies*
